The Roueché Chorale and Orchestra will present the Lenten cantata "Colors of Grace" by Joseph Martin on Tuesday, March 27, at 7 p.m. in Brainerd United Methodist Church, 4315 Brainerd Road.

This is the 18th presentation of the cantata by the chorale. It focuses on the time between the Last Supper and Jesus' teaching of his disciples, through the dark hours of Jesus' crucifixion.

His words are illustrated in dramatic form by the presentation of symbols and colors. The four lessons are: service (white with basin and pitcher); obedience (red with cup), humility (purple with crown of thorns) and forgiveness (black, draped upon the cross).

A 29-piece orchestra will accompany the singers. Additional instrumentalists are Jeff Scofield, organist; and Alex Mejias, pianist. Cellist Sharon Reed will perform an instrumental solo of Gabriel Fauré's "Elégie."

Soloists joining the chorale will be Robert Goff, tenor; Roberta Bishop, soprano; Joy Fisher, alto; and Todd Gaither, tenor.

Rev. Dr. Adam McKee, senior pastor of Brainerd United Methodist, will emcee the program. The narrator will be George Taylor. Cast members in the drama are Sarah McCown, Karen and Mike Ryland, Bernie and John Hilbrandt, Rosemary and Daryl Moffitt.

Because this is a quiet, meditative service, the audience is asked to enter and leave the sanctuary in silence. The service will last about one hour. It is free, and parking is available on-site.
