Southern Stars Symphonic Brass Band will present a program of big-band swing, Dixieland and jazz stylings in "Hot Brass & Cool Ballads" on Saturday night, May 26, at Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville, Tenn.

The 30-piece professional brass ensemble is directed by Dr. Steven Sudduth, head of bands at the University of the Cumberland in Wilmington, Ky. The SSSB is celebrating its 10th season as a professional ensemble of regional instrumentalists who perform a series of annual concerts in Crossville.

In addition to the selections by the SSSB, members of the Playhouse's resident acting company will be guest vocalists: Jason Ross, Hannah Hayes and Jess Griffin.

The program will include "I've Got You Under My Skin," Dave Brubeck's "Blue Rondo a la Turk," "Chattanooga Choo Choo," Chuck Mangione's "Children of Sanchez" and "Georgia on My Mind" with a flugelhorn solo by Tennessee Technological University jazz professor Chris McCormick.

There will be a medley of Glenn Miller tunes and a rousing finale of big-band hit "Sing, Sing, Sing."
