Summer 2K18 Hip-Hop Festival at Ziggy's

A showcase of hip-hop talent on the rise is set for Friday night, May 25, when the Music Box at Ziggy's hosts Summer 2K18 Hip-Hop Festival. The show starts at 9 p.m. at the Cherokee Boulevard venue.

Scheduled to perform are 423KidK, Mad Salvy, Orion Hunter, Thermo, Justice, Kreative Music Group, Beekman and Master.

Kyle Jesse Kearney - aka 423KidK - is a German-born, Korean-American rapper raised by a single mother in Chattanooga.

In high school, he divided his time between "football, wrestling, mixed martial arts and a lot of detention," he says in a news release. Now in college in Northwest Georgia, he spends his nights in the studio gearing up to officially release his first album later this year.

"It's now time to show the world what I can do. I create music that makes me feel good. I want it to resonate," he says.

Salvador Rocha Osorio - aka Mad Salvy - dropped his first album, "The Divine Kinetic Awareness of Flow," on March 16.

Osorio is a Mexican native who immigrated to the U.S. when he was 5 years old. He grew up with a single mother as the head of the household. Throughout his upbringing, he and his mother moved all around Nashville.

After having registered in 11 different schools, he was able to analyze and be influenced by the inner-city and suburban culture. His household was heavily impacted by the religious beliefs and practices of the Pentecostal Church of God and it pushed him to find true understanding of what is considered to be God.

His mission is to create his own music festivals and gatherings with the purpose that people of diverse cultures and religions can come together and learn from each other.
