SERFA, the Southeast Regional Folk Alliance (a chapter of Folk Alliance International), is holding its 12th annual conference in Chattanooga.

The conference, which begins Wednesday, May 16, and concludes Sunday, May 19, brings together artists, songwriters, presenters, DJs and other music industry professionals for musical showcases, Wisdom of the Elders panel discussions and workshops ranging from "Touring Overseas" to "How To Be a Storyteller in Song."

This year's recipients include performers with Chattanooga ties: Norman and Nancy Blake of Rising Fawn, Ga., and the late Fletcher Bright.

On-site registration for nonmembers is $310, or $115 for a one-day pass.

Registration opens at 9 a.m. each day in the lobby of The Chattanoogan, 1201 Broad St.
