Conor McDonald, Dr. ChoEun Lee open Performing Arts Series concert series at Lee University

Lee University's School of Music will welcome Conor McDonald and Dr. ChoEun Lee to kick off the 2019-20 Performing Arts Series on Friday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. McDonald will also host a masterclass Thursday, Oct. 3, at 4 p.m.

Both events will take place in Squires Recital Hall, located in Lee's Humanities Center, 1130 Parker St., Cleveland, Tennessee.

Their program will include Poulenc's "Le travail du peintre," Mihaud's "Catalogue de fleurs" and Mussorgsky's "The Nursery," among others.

McDonald, a baritone, recently performed the roles of Captain Corcoran in "H.M.S. Pinafore" with Anchorage Opera, the Marquis in "La Traviata" with Atlanta Opera and Merlin in "Gluck's L'île de Merlin" with Wolf Trap Opera.

Lee joined the Lee University School of Music faculty in 2016 as an assistant professor of collaborative piano and vocal coaching. She has given numerous performances in Australia, Austria, Italy, Korea, New Zealand and the United States. Lee has been named a recipient of the Grace B. Jackson Prize.

Concert admission is free, but tickets are required due to limited seating. Tickets are are available at www.showclix.com or at the Dixon Center box office 3- 6 p.m. Monday-Friday.
