'Dance Around the World' stops in Costa Rica

The final "Dance Around the World" summer culture program will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at Creative Discovery Museum, 321 Chestnut St.

This third of three folk-dance showcases will feature a Chattanooga Costa Rican group of performers dressed in traditional costumes. The dancers will provide one-on-one instruction after each performance to children and adults interested in learning more about the dance and the country's cultural history.

Previous performances have featured Indian and Chinese folk dances.

"This program is a unique opportunity for children to learn about Chattanooga's unique cultural demographic through the power of dance and discover just how diverse and special a place we really are," said Liza Blair, the museum's arts Manager.

The ArtsLive program is free with paid admission into the museum ($10.95). Summer hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, noon-5 p.m. Sundays.
