Courter: 'Imagination Dance' screening in South Pittsburg

Jim Moore, creator of The Animal Band, is back in the area and will screen his film "Imagination Dance" at the newly renovated Princess Theater in South Pittsburg, Tenn., at 6 p.m. CDT on Nov. 5.

Moore is a South Pittsburg native who left the area decades ago and embarked on an award-winning career.

He is the first recipient of the prestigious Media & Entertainment Excellence Award, presented by members of the U.S. Congress. He is the only independent artist to sell out five consecutive performances at the Grand Ole Opry House. Moore is a two-time Emmy Award nominee, a Nashville Music Award (NAMMY) winner for Children's Music Recording of the Year and a best-selling author.

"Imagination Dance" is an interactive film for adults and children that includes 12 Moore originals, digital animation and pyrotechnics. Audience members get involved in such songs as "Are We There Yet," in which the audience leans left and right as a car travels a curvy road.

It was filmed at The Renaissance Theatre in Dickson, Tenn., along Old Hickory Lake in Hickory, Tenn., and at The Nashville Zoo. It was shown on 84 screens in 2003 for one day, selling out at each.

It's also been shown on PBS.

"I will have people like Johnny Eagle, Ringo Van, Ron Arnold (he was Ron Daly on the air) and David Carroll," Jett said. "We'll also have some surprise guests.

"We will reminisce and talk about the impact and the effect that Jet Fli had on the community and Mid-South area, really."
