Cory Gearrin, the Rhea County High School pitcher who was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the fourth round of the 2007 draft, will return to the area Thursday as the Braves Caravan rolls through Chattanooga.

Also expected are right-fielder Jason Heyward, first-baseman Freddie Freeman and batting coach Greg Walker. They are scheduled to sign autographs and answer questions from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Taco Mac, 423 Market St.

Gearrin recently received the Braves' Bill Lucas Award, which is presented annually to the minor-leaguer who best exemplifies sportsmanship and character.
