Experts from the Society of Women Engineers will show kids that engineering is tons of fun Saturday at Creative Discovery Museum, 321 Chestnut St.

From noon to 4 p.m., the professionals will lead guests in hands-on exploration of various engineering concepts. Activities will touch on the different types of engineering, such as mechanical, chemical, civil and electrical, and will include:

Book Lift -- Solve an engineering challenge to lift a heavy book 2 inches above the table for 10 seconds.

Ping Pong Zip Line -- Figure out a way to get a Ping Pong ball down a zip line using only the materials provided.

Snap Circuits -- Learn about simple electrical circuitry to light a bulb or turn on a buzzer.

Solar-Powered Cars -- Manipulate a light source to make a solar-powered car move through a trackway.

Shiny Penny -- Use simple chemistry to make a penny shine like new.

Marble Painting -- Rotate a ramp to create amazing artwork.

Trackway Teamwork -- Work together as a team to move a ball completely around a room to land in a bucket.

All activities are included with paid admission to the museum ($10.95). The museum will be open 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
