Women's Football Clinic teaches basics of UTC's game

A behind-the-scenes tour of the locker room and insights into key plays will be included in the third annual Women's Football Clinic, scheduled at 7 p.m. today at Finley Stadium, 1826 Reggie White Blvd.

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga head football coach Russ Huesman will host the event, which supports Huesman's Huddle. The 4-year-old program allots tickets donated by Mocs fans, alumni and supporters to grant free admission to home games to underprivileged fans.

Doors to the Stadium Club at Finley Stadium open at 6 p.m. for registration and a social hour, so participants can get there early to meet the coaching staff.

Events kick off at 7 p.m. with on-field coaching and instruction on positions, plays and penalties demonstrations and a Mocs locker room tour. Fans may participate in as many, or as few, of the on-field activities as they like.

Afterward, there will be a discussion panel and Q&A session with the wives of the UTC staff, including Huesman's wife, Amy.

Cost is $40 to the general public, $25 for UTC students, faculty and staff. All attendees will receive a T-shirt. Door prizes and awards will be given out throughout the evening.
