Today is the final day to buy tickets for the 2012 WTCI Be More Awards ceremony at the Chattanooga Convention Center on Tuesday.

The ceremony and luncheon will feature guest speaker Rebecca Eaton, the executive producer of the Masterpiece series on PBS.

The event is sponsored by local PBS member station WTCI-TV 45, and the nationally recognized awards focus attention on those who offer everyone opportunities to "Be More."

"It is fitting to have one of the most influential people of 2011 speak at an event honoring the organizations that have such a positive impact in our community," said Paul Grove, WTCI president and CEO.

"Rebecca Eaton will undoubtedly share a dynamic, inspirational message as we come together to celebrate the champions that encourage all of us to be more."

Eaton was named one of Time magazine's Most Influential People of 2011. During her 25-year tenure with PBS, she has brought to American audiences such Masterpiece works as "Sherlock," "Upstairs Downstairs" and "Downton Abbey," which drew an audience of more than 13 million viewers.

She also oversaw a complete rebranding of the series, which has earned 34 Primetime Emmy Awards, 17 Peabody Awards, a Golden Globe and two Academy Award nominations.

Be More Awards will be offered in nine categories, each honoring a different aspect of making a positive difference in the lives of people within the WTCI viewing area.
