Beer Over Dirt supports North Chickamauga Creek Conservancy

After 11 years underground, a private function modeled loosely on Wine Over Water goes public this year. Beer Over Dirt -- offering the handiwork of six breweries, five food vendors and three musical acts -- will take place at Renaissance Park.

Proceeds support the work of the North Chickamauga Creek Conservancy, a nonprofit organization committed to the preservation, conservation and responsible use of the North Chick watershed and gorge.

According to a history at beeroverdirt.com, this fundraiser catering to beer aficionados is the brainchild of Mark Marcum, co-owner with Jonathan Clark of Chattanooga Brewing Co. In addition to their brews, the event will feature complimentary beers from Big River Brewing Co., Terminal Brewhouse, McHale's Brewhouse & Pub, Bounty Bev and Moccasin Bend Brewing Co.

Food may be purchased from on-site vendors Lupi's Pizza Pies, Taco Sherpa, Southern Burger Co., The Kettle Corn Guy and Pure Sodaworks.

Scheduled to perform are Mark "Porkchop" Holder at 3:15 p.m., Bluetastic Fangrass at 4:30 p.m. and Strung Like a Horse at 6:30 p.m.

Because the admission price is a donation to the NCCC, there will be no refunds should the event be canceled due to extreme or dangerous weather.
