Rock City's Facebook friends have named the two fawns recently born into the fold at the Lookout Mountain attraction's Deer Park.

The male and female, born to different mothers, will be called Hansel and Gretel.

"We are so pleased that our new fallow deer habitat has created the perfect environment for the deer to produce offspring," said Jeff Raabe, director of operations for Rock City Gardens, in a news release. "When we went in to check on what we thought was the one new fawn, we got a big surprise -- there were actually two. This has been great confirmation that we have been successful in the creation of a well-balanced habitat for the deer herd. Both of the fawns are doing great."

The birth of Hansel and Gretel raises the Deer Park population to four bucks and six does living in the natural habitat. Most of the other deer names also were chosen by Rock City's social-media followers. Others in the herd are Precious, Rockette, Bellatrix, Snow White, Roxy, Merlin, Starbuck and Rudy.
