Early registration ends for Hot Rod Power Tour

The Hot Rod Power Tour, Hot Rod Magazine's annual summer trek of more than 5,400 performance vehicles, is coming to Chattanooga next month.

Admission is free to spectators, but there is a cost to register a vehicle for the event. Registration is open to any year, make or model of vehicle.

To take part in the complete tour, which is seven cities in seven days, registration is $80 plus a $3.50 handling fee in advance, $90 on-site. Advance registration must be completed by today, May 23, at www.HotRod.com or 877-413-6515.

To join the tour for one day only, the cost is $30 and registration must be done on-site. The Chattanooga stop, sponsored by Coker Tire, will be noon-7 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at Chattanooga State Community College, 4501 Amnicola Highway.

More than 5,400 enthusiasts will participate in the trip, driving their beloved hot rods, street rods, custom trucks, muscle cars and street machines. More than 85,000 spectators are expected to view the vehicles at the seven tour stops. Thousands more will stake out roadside viewing spots for the drive-by.
