Family Volunteer Day is Saturday - Nov. 23

Pictured on the right, a father and daughter press "I Volunteer" stickers on each other after a previous National Family Volunteer Day. This year's event, presented by United Way's Volunteer Center, will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Hamilton Place, 2100 Hamilton Place Blvd. Several projects for children and families will be available on the lower level of the JC Penney Court. The projects are simple to do but can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. They include working on peace quilts, making flower pots out of soup cans, packing treat bags for shelter pets and writing cards for soldiers overseas.
