Regis Philbin's show business career spans 60 plus years of hosting talk shows, appearing on TV sitcoms and doing voice-overs in Disney animated blockbusters. His tornadic energy propels him across the country, visiting cities during his alleged "retirement."

On Saturday, Sept. 6, Chattanooga will enjoy full-force Philbin at the fourth annual Life Boomers & Seniors Expo produced by the Times Free Press. The event also features cash giveaways, bingo, live music and dance.

Erlanger Health System and Garden Plaza at Greenbriar Cove are the event's sponsors. Erlanger is doing free health screenings at Life, while Garden Plaza will feature cooking demos and Wii games. Dozens more vendors will offer an array of goods and services of interest to this age-specific demographic.

Philbin will be visiting hospital patients before the expo. He is a tireless fundraiser for charities that champion wounded soldiers and aim to end bullying in schools. But the entertainer has an energy so boundless, he seems to have lived 100 lives, so reporters are always unearthing new and startling Philbin Factoids.

Here are a few tidbits even devoted fans might not know.

1. New York magazine quotes unnamed sources saying that Philbin may come out of retirement to host a daytime talk show on Fox's new all-sports network.

2. He appeared on "How I Met Your Mother" in an episode about the search for the perfect burger. But he favors Nathan's hot dogs over burgers.

3. He was a news journalist when he first started out with a TV show in San Diego.

4. He holds the Guinness world record for Most Hours Spent in Front of a TV Camera.

5. Philbin was a fabulous prom date; he took his girlfriend to the Copacabana nightclub to see Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin perform after the senior prom.
