Make-A-Wish East Tennessee is billing its Super Bowl watch party as the biggest in Chattanooga. The evening will include dinner, silent and live auctions and the big game shown on a massive screen. Events start at 6 p.m. at Stratton Hall, 3146 Broad St. The annual fundraiser channels 100 percent of proceeds to Make-A-Wish East Tennessee, which grants the wishes of children who have life-threatening medical conditions. Tickets are $45 general admission, $75 VIP. Raffle tickets also are available for an additional $100 to win a 2015 Honda Accord (winner responsible for taxes and title fees). Look for Super Bowl 50 to be the only game in town Sunday, Feb. 7, whether you're watching from a sports bar or the couch at home.
Some analysts predict this matchup between the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers has the potential to be one of the best ever, as it pits arguably the best quarterback in the league right now - the Panthers' Cam Newton - against arguably the best quarterback ever - the Broncos' Peyton Manning.
Also worth noting is that there has never been a bigger age gap - 13 years, 48 days - between quarterbacks. Manning is 39. Newton is 26.
According to an electronic simulation of Sunday's game run by Electronic Arts, via its "Madden NFL 16" video game, the Panthers are favored to beat the Broncos, 24-20.
