Vintage base ball, family movie at Fort Oglethorpe's polo field

Lightfoot batter Gene "Sweet Willie" Ingram fouls off a pitch between teams in a previous Tennessee Association of Vintage Base Ball game at the polo field in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.

Two games are scheduled Saturday, July 23.

The two Chattanooga clubs, Lightfoot and Mountain City, will play the noon match of the double-header.

Mountain City (5-1) has a score to settle as their only loss this season has been to the Lightfoot Club (6-0). At 2:30 p.m., Mountain City hosts the Quicksteps Club of Spring Hill.

That won't be the only fun on the field that day. "Minions" will be shown at dark for Walmart Family Movie Night.

Lawn chairs and blankets are recommended for seating for all events.

Liberty Church of Fort Oglethorpe will have concessions available for the movie.

The polo field is adjacent to the 6th Cavalry Museum, 6 Barnhardt Circle.
