The Tennessee Aquarium is celebrating its 25th anniversary on May 1. To mark the occasion, a day-long community celebration will be held Saturday, April 29, in the Aquarium's plaza.

At 9:30 a.m., fabulously festooned art cars will gather in the Aquarium parking lot for visitors to admire. Guests will be able to enjoy a special parade of children's art cars created by Hamilton County students later in the day.

On the plaza, visitors can browse the wares of Chattanooga River Market vendors. Music will start at 11:30 a.m. when Rick Rushing performs followed by Kofi Mawuko from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Outdoor festivities conclude at 5 p.m.

Throughout the day, prizes will be given away and Aquarium mascots will be in attendance to welcome visitors and pose for photos.

The Aquarium will be open Saturday during its normal operating hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Inside the Aquarium, animals will take part in the celebration with enrichment sessions featuring specially prepared treats. These sessions and the rest of the daily Extraordinary Experiences programming are included with admission of $29.95 adults, $18.95 children ages 3-12.
