The museum is kicking off a Folk and Traditional Arts series on Saturday, June 24, that will include three events this summer featuring an array of art and music from different cultures, all presented by local and regional talent.

On Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m., the museum will spotlight Asian cultures.

"Chattanooga is a culturally rich city. Our Folk and Traditional Arts Events will celebrate a sample of the different cultural art forms practiced in our city and surrounding areas," says Liza Blair, arts manager. "These events also provide authentic, hands-on experiences that demonstrate how art brings all cultures together despite our differences."

Many of the performances will allow children to interact with the artists and encourage audience participation.
