The Chattanooga Roller Girls All-Stars will open their home season on Saturday, March 18, with battles in and out of the rink.

CRG All Stars will take on the Dixie Derby Girls at 7 p.m., the second in a double-header bout at the Chattanooga Convention Center. The Chattanooga B-team, the B-Railers, will kick off the night's action with a 5 p.m. bout against the Hard Knox Roller Girls B-team, the Brawlers.

As is tradition, proceeds from every home bout benefit a local charity, but this matchup will help one of the team's own, No. 77 Brooke Mendenhall, aka "Malice N'Wonderlust."

Mendenhall was diagnosed with breast cancer in November, and began bi-weekly chemotherapy treatments at the end of December. The league has hosted several fundraisers, raising more than $5,000 to help pay her medical bills, according to a CRG news release.

A hair-raising, one-of-a-kind, "Manes for Malice" halftime show has been planned for fans' entertainment and to benefit Mendenhall.

Eight CRG affiliates have agreed to go bald for the right price. Fans may make donations either on bout night, in person to their favorite roller girl, or through Paypal at Tkuebler669@hotmail.com. Send payments "friends or family" not service, to avoid a fee.

Discounted tickets can be purchased today, March 16, at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2857789 or at local vendors Mountain Top Toys, Infinity Flux, Niedlov's Breadworks, Swann Chiropractic or Main Line Ink.
