Thirty vendors from Florida, Indiana, Alabama and Tennessee will set up in Camp Jordan Arena for an Exotic Bird Fair on Saturday and Sunday, April 1-2.

Show hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for ages 13 and older.

Event organizer Don Price says there will be a wide variety of birds for sale in addition to feed, toys in all shapes, educational supplies, baby bird supplies and bird cages.

"We have a feed man who brings a 24-foot truck completely full of bird feed. It can be purchased in sizes from 2-pound bags up to 50-pound bags. Some of the smaller vendors will bring specialty feed," says Price.

Price points out that the fair is not only a good place to get advice if you're considering buying a bird as a pet, but the place to get a good deal on the price.

"You can buy a pet bird at a bird show and get it much cheaper than it would be in a pet store. A lot of the vendors who will be here sell to pet stores, and most of the time pet stores double their money to sell the birds," he explains.
