April showers bring May flowers, as the adage goes, and a variety of blooms will be displayed during two flower shows this weekend.
-Members of the Garden Club of Signal Mountain will present "Fashion Flowers," a National Garden Club Standard Flower Show, on Friday, April 27, from 2 to 5 p.m. at McCoy Farm & Gardens, 1604 Taft Highway, Signal Mountain.
This free, educational floral event is open to the public. There will be four divisions of competition exhibits judged by NGC-accredited flower show judges.
Horticulture specimens grown and submitted by GCSM members will be located in the pavilion. Floral design exhibits and botanical arts (artistic crafts) based on fashions from bygone eras will be on display in the main house. Education exhibits will be on the side porch of the main house.
-Cumberland County Master Gardeners will host their 16th annual Flower and Garden Show on Friday-Saturday, April 27-28, at the Cumberland County Fairgrounds, 1398 Livingston Road, Crossville, Tenn. Friday hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. CDT; Saturday hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. CDT. Admission is $3.
