The city of Collegedale will host its annual Independence Day party on Tuesday, July 3, with picnicking and music along the Wolftever Creek Greenway.

Festivities at Freedom Celebration will begin at 5 p.m. when local artists and food trucks will be set up along Apison Pike. Families may bring picnics or purchase food to enjoy before the pops concert begins.

Children are invited to join in activities at Imagination Station hosted by the Parks & Recreation Department. The second Red, White and Boom Glow Run, sponsored by Scenic City Multisport, will start at 7:30 p.m. The Children's Fun Run and the 5k run along Wolftever Creek Greenway will begin at 8 p.m. Both will benefit the Collegedale flag program at Veterans Memorial Park. Two stages of live music will be set up: one at Veterans Memorial Park, the other at the train platform in Imagination Station.

Musical performances at Imagination Station will kick off at 6 p.m. with Kofi Mawuko followed by Jennifer Daniels at 7:15 p.m.

Music at Veterans Memorial Park will start at 6 p.m. with Lou Wamp and the Bluetastics, followed by the East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra concert and Sweet Georgia Sound.

Freedom Celebration will conclude at 9:45 p.m. with what is being billed as "the area's largest fireworks display."
