The luck of the Irish will lead you to Rock City's St. Patrick's Day festivities on March 10-11 and 17-18. Shamrock City is open between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. each of those days.
For this 11th annual celebration, most everything in the Lookout Mountain attraction has been given a green twist - from the waterfall to the fudge. Be transported to Ireland through live music, food and activities, all within the natural setting of the attraction's rock formations.
Guests can learn the Irish jig or watch dance performances set to Celtic tunes. There will be live music by The Wolfhounds, Molly Maguires, Carolina Ceili, members of The Chattanooga Pipe Band, Olta and harpist Ellen Shiraef.
Irish food sold in the park will include mulligan stew, green mint chocolate chip milkshakes, corned beef and cabbage, Shepherd's Pie and Irish bites from Café 7.
Kids can go on a Shamrock Quest, getting stamps in their passport that includes activities and coupons. Experiences range from a Suffolk Sheep Encounter to panning for gold and caricature art.
