Join the adventures of Daniel Tiger and all his PBS friends when "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood: A Grr-ific Exhibit" opens in the Creative Discovery Museum on May 26.

Created by the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in partnership with The Fred Rogers Co., this exhibit is based on the award-winning PBS Kids television series that follows the adventures of 4-year-old Daniel Tiger. The partnership connects the familiar TV world to the multisensory experience the exhibit provides.

The new exhibit will remain at the children's museum through Sept. 9.

CDM will celebrate the exhibit's arrival with an opening-day event on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. In addition to all the fun the exhibit has to offer, guests can enjoy face painting, a Daniel Tiger dance party and tasty snacks in the Alphabet Rainbow Buffet. Daniel Tiger will also make several appearances during the event to greet little fans and pose for photo-ops.

In "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood: A Grr-ific Exhibit," children ages 2 to 6 explore Daniel's neighborhood. Visitors can walk the paths and hear the sounds of Daniel's world as they encounter the meanings of empathy, gratitude, sharing and diversity in an environment of interactive play. Kids can sing along with Daniel and work together to solve problems.

"This exhibit is going to be a wonderful addition to the museum this summer," says Henry Schulson, CDM executive director. "The themes of understanding, kindness, sharing and acceptance throughout the exhibit align perfectly with our vision of making our community the best place for a child to grow up."

Admission to "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood: A Grr-ific Exhibit" is included in CDM admission of $13.95. The CDM's new admission price of $14.95 goes into effect June 1.

Local sponsorship for "Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood: A Grr-ific Exhibit" is provided by First Tennessee Foundation, Novatech and Volkswagen Group of America, Chattanooga.
