Fans of "American Gladiator" know Mike O'Hearn as Titan, the only undefeated gladiator on the show.

Fans of Topaz romance novels, might recognize O'Hearn as one of the brand's cover novels.

And in the world of bodybuilding, O'Hearn is respected for the titles he has accumulated: four-time Mr. Universe in addition to Mr. California, Mr. USA, Mr. America and Mr. International.

He is also a four-time Power Lifting Champion, two-time Iron Warrior: Decathlon of Strength Strongman Champion and two-time California Judo Champion.

O'Hearn will be the featured guest Saturday night, June 8, when Battle at the River bodybuilding championship is held in the Tivoli Theatre. Male and female competitors will vie for titles in Men's Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, Men's Physique, Women's Bodybuilding, Women's Physique, Fitness, Figure and Bikini divisions.

Registration for entrants is $150 for one class, and competitors in more than one competition must register for each division/class they enter.

Battle at the River is a National Physique Committee-sanctioned bodybuilding championship. It is an important competition to bodybuilders statewide because it is a qualifier for the NPC Nationals.

Athletes will check-in Friday night, June 7, at the Read House. Saturday's competition begins with a pre-judging round at 9 a.m. in the Tivoli. Tickets are sold at the door for this round, which shows the work an athlete has put in without the addition of music or other entertainment factors.

The finals Saturday evening are the glitz and glamour of bodybuilding. Competitors do posing routines to music and there is an entertainment factor involved.

All competitors in Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, Physique, Fitness, Figure and Bikini will be introduced onstage. The top five competitors in each height class and the overall winners will be awarded medallions/trophies.

There are a limited number of reserved seats for the finals; advance purchase is encouraged. Call 423-757-5580.
