Madison Rings in a New Year

Early in 2010 McKamey Animal Center released a story on Maddie the matted Cocker Spaniel. Here is a "pupdate" on Maddie's progress. Animal Services Officer Rebekkah Gayton was called to investigate a cruelty case in February. Officer Gayton found Madison, an aggressive black Cocker Spaniel, severely matted from living outside in unproper conditions. Gayton impounded Madison and brought her to McKamey Animal Center where the staff spent four hours shaving off eleven pounds of hair, mud, and feces.

Over time Maddie's aggression disappeared as she learned that the world could be a kind place. Madison was later flown to North Carolina to All Breed Animal Rescue of the Carolinas where she was then adopted. Maddie is enjoying life to the fullest and her owner is thankful to all organizations that helped Maddie along the way.

McKamey Animal Center is in need of wet dog food and Kuranda dog and cat beds. Any brand of canned dog food will be accepted. To order a kuranda bed go to www.mckameyanimalcenter.org. Help make 2011 and good year for Chattanooga's homeless pets.
