Larry Leach, an outreach artist for ColArt America, will give a demonstration on painting using Winsor & Newton artist oil colors, with a focus on using oil bars, 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Art Creations, 7351 Commons Blvd.
Oil bars are an artist-quality oil color in stick form, allowing painting and drawing freely and directly onto surfaces. The result, according to a news release, is "greater buttery consistency and richness of oil colour, together with the freedom and directness of pastels or charcoal."
Leach has been painting in oils for almost 50 years and has taught painting and drawing at Louisiana State University and Lamar University.
Admission is $15, and seating is limited to 30 people. Participants will be given a gift bag with product and a gift card.
