A new, locally owned art studio is giving area residents "the chance to get in touch with their inner Monet."
Artsy-U, which opened in early May, is offering two- to three-hour painting classes designed to be fun and interactive. Additionally, the studio provides "a great alternative place to host birthday and bachelorette parties, corporate team-building sessions and off-site lessons for churches and retirement home communities," said a news release from owner/instructor Johnny Brown.
"The response to Artsy-U has already been quite strong," Brown said. "Customers especially seem to appreciate the variety of paintings we offer as well as the option to alter the painting's colors to match their own home's color scheme. Plus, the classes are really fun."
Adult classes range from $30 to $40 per class, depending on class length; children's classes cost $25 per class. Secure registration is available at www.ArtsyChattanooga.com, but walk-ins are also welcome. Customers may bring beverages and snacks. Artsy-U takes care of the rest, providing instruction and supplies.
The studio is next door to the Rave movie theater in the South Terrace Plaza shopping center in East Ridge.
