The Artistic Civic Theatre of Dalton, Ga., will set the scene for Halloween with its latest mainstage production. "Dracula," based on Bram Stoker's novel, is the classic Gothic thriller about the power of seduction and the nature of true love.

The show opens tonight and continues through Oct. 27. A special midnight showing is scheduled Oct. 26.

In the story, the mysterious Count Dracula (portrayed by Richard Bryan) takes an interest in the beautiful, young Lucy (Mary Mae Sims), arousing the suspicions of her fiancé, Johnathan Harker (Chase Parker), her father (Keith Rollins) and Professor Abraham Van Helsing (Ted Long). Following a series of grisly murders and unexplained occurrences, the men fear Dracula may be an undead creature that prowls the darkness and preys upon innocent souls.

In other featured roles are Coulter Redding, Chris Blessing and Jessica Brinkley. Tim Etheridge is the director.
