Tanglewood Marionettes is an award-winning, nationally touring company that integrates handcrafted marionettes, colorful sets, lighting and sound into a fully immersive theatrical experience.

Along with daytime productions for area schoolchildren this week, Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn., will host a public performance of Tanglewood Marionettes' "Cinderella" at 7 p.m. today, Sept. 12, in the Dixon Center, 1053 Church St.

Founded in 1993 and based in New England, Tanglewood Marionettes is an award-winning, nationally touring company that integrates handcrafted marionettes, colorful sets, lighting and sound into a fully immersive theatrical experience.

"Cinderella," a company showpiece recommended for grades K-6, is set in the 18th century, features 12 costumed, 30-inch marionettes and adds a few twists to the classic fairy tale.

Tickets are available at the box office for $5.
