In addition to nine school matinees over three days, the cast of "Alice @ Wonderland" will offer a single evening performance to the public at 7:30 p.m. today, May 15, at Tennessee Valley Theatre, 184 W. Jackson Ave., Spring City, Tenn. The modern retelling of the classic children's story imagines what would happen if a 21st-century Alice collided with Lewis Carroll's legendary Wonderland. The story is laid out in traditional style, with the same memorable characters, including the Mad Hatter, White Rabbit and Queen of Hearts, but Alice is distinctly contemporary, down to her cellphone. Mandy Clark directs. Admission to tonight's performance is $5 for adults, $3 for students. For reservations, call 423-365-PLAY (7529) or visit www.tennesseevalleytheatre.com.
