Cornerstone Grill features fresh, local recipes

Cornerstone Grill at Rocky Face in Dalton celebrates a seasonal menu brimming with new delicacies prepared with fresh, local ingredients.

"We change our menu every two to three months to give guests some variety," says Esat Sertcelik, operating partner. "We try to provide the highest quality product, but we also try to keep the price point low."

By keeping seasonally fresh produce and in-season fish on the menu, the restaurant is able to make all the recipes delicious and affordable. Seafood is delivered at least twice a week and is served at Cornerstone in 8-ounce portions. The new menu returned the popular halibut to the kitchen, which is prepared on a wood-fired grill and served over risotto.

Also on the menu is a shrimp and clam stuffed Atlantic salmon, yellowfin tuna that can be blackened or grilled as well as a white bass.

"We wanted to add something different to the menu," Sertcelik says. "Customers wanted to see veal, so we introduced veal marsala."

The veal marsala is prepared with a house-made marsala sauce, which has fresh portabello mushrooms for additional flavor. A new balsamic pork tenderloin recipe is prepared using tenderloin chopped into small pieces and cooked in a balsamic sauce served on sautéed spinach with cheese bread on the side.

Many customers enjoy the fine and casual atmosphere of Cornerstone Grill and choose to host special events in the spacious dining room or the smaller party rooms. The restaurant offers four dining rooms that can hold from 8 to 50 diners. The restaurant's chefs can work with guests to create a specialized menu for private events, narrowing down the choices for large parties. Sertcelik says the rooms are also popular during weekdays for businesses hosting work lunches.

Guests who like entertainment while dining can enjoy harpist Beth Blackburn's performances every Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the main dining room. Sertcelik says the restaurant's staff members, who are dedicated to creating a pleasant dining experience for everyone, enhance Cornerstone Grill's atmosphere.

Rumors Bar also offers a pleasant retreat with a bar menu and drink specials available. Happy hour is available from 4 to 7 p.m., which includes two-for-one well drinks and a selection of appetizers that are half price. Rumors Bar features live music, with the performance schedule updated on the website for guests who want to plan ahead for a night out. Sertcelik says every Friday Charley Yates performs from 7 to 10 p.m.

Cornerstone Grill often hosts wine-tasting events for customers. The next wine gathering will be held Sept. 23 with updates on Facebook for ticket sales and the theme for the evening.
