Chef Lin thanks patrons

For the fourth year, Chef Lin Buffet was chosen as the Chattanooga Times Free Press Best of the Best People's Choice Award winner for Best Chinese Restaurant, Best Buffet and Best Meal Under $10.

"We cannot thank our customers enough for voting us No. 1 again this year despite the competition we have around us," says owner Tony Lin. "To show our appreciation customers will receive 10 percent off through Oct. 31 here at the restaurant. That's more than one month of savings."

This year, Lin has gone to great lengths to make the restaurant even more customer friendly. He added a second hibachi grill to cut down on customers' wait for their favorite grilled meats and fresh vegetables. The addition of a new steam table on the buffet has also provided guests with more options from whole tilapia to fried catfish.

Popular items such as General Tso's chicken, salt and pepper shrimp and other dishes from sweet and sour soup to American- style foods like fried chicken are always on the buffet.

"New competition is always calling themselves the best, but what the customers say is the most important," Lin says.

The sushi bar offers a selection of 20 different types of sushi as well as an assortment of traditional side dishes such as kimchi and seaweed salad. The sushi bar at lunch is comprised of the most popular rolls like California and spicy tuna. At dinner, the buffet offers a more exotic selection of raw nigiri sushi such as salmon, tuna and eel.

Guests are welcome to dine for lunch or dinner all year long and the restaurant especially welcomes them during special occasions like birthdays. Any guest who decides to celebrate a birthday at Chef Lin can dine for free as long as two additional paying diners accompany them.

"We have a good relationship with the customers and good quality of the food," Lin says. "I think if we continue doing our best customers will still chose us and keep coming,"
