Zaxby's is starting out the summer right with a healthy new Cobb "zalad" and new specialty shakes that will keep guests cool, collected and ready to eat chicken.

"July 1, we have a new Cobb salad coming out for a limited time offering to test the viability for being on the menu full time," says Shannon Brown, who is principal owner of the Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., East Brainerd Road, Highway 58, Ooltewah, Signal Mountain Road and Soddy-Daisy locations. "Additionally, we will be releasing what will be referred to as our 'premium milkshake' line which includes fan favorites and craveable flavors only available at Zaxby's. These premium milkshakes will be permanently added to our full line menu."

The premium flavors will include the already popular banana pudding and birthday cake shakes and a new chocolate cookie milkshake blended with chocolate fudge and crushed chocolate cookies.

To make sure that Zaxby's is a family-friendly place to dine, Brown continues to offer a Family Day Special that includes 20 chicken "fingerz" or wings, two baskets of crinkle fries, a basket of Texas toast, four cookies and four 22-ounce beverages for $20. The Family Day Special is available Mondays at the East Brainerd, Fort Oglethorpe and Ooltewah locations, Wednesdays at the Soddy-Daisy location, Sundays at the Highway 58 location and every Monday and Wednesday at the Signal Mountain location.

Zaxby's provides a significant amount of catering for privateschool lunches, summer camps, doctor's offices, pharmaceutical representatives, sales meetings, corporate meetings and rehearsal dinners for weddings, says Brown. Whether guests need a dozen trays or a full-service buffet, Zaxby's can help make every event a smooth and delicious success.

"Each event is customized to meet the needs of the customer and the event," Brown says. "Some are extremely detailed with full service that includes setup, complete serving and all the bells and whistles. My philosophy is that if we are going to do it, we are only going to do it right or not do it at all."

Remaining an integral part of the community is one of his goals as a business owner, he adds. One of the ways he stays in touch with Chattanooga is by supporting local colleges and organizations like Bryan College and Bethel Bible Village and events such as the Volunteers In Medicine Golf Tournament, to name a few.

This summer, Zaxby's restaurants will be reaching out nationwide on college campuses, where it's already a favorite - Zaxby's is the official "chicken" of college sports, says Brown. The national restaurant chain is sponsoring two college football and basketball teams in every state where there is a Zaxby's.

"Zaxby's started in a college town over twenty years ago with our very first location opening in 1990 in Statesboro, Ga.," says Brown. "And now, with nearly 600 locations, we continue to provide that same spirited enthusiasm with fans across our 13-state foot print."
