Where to eat during the Snowpocalypse

Just because it's cold doesn't mean you're not hungry. And even if you stocked up on milk and bread, that's not a very statisfying meal. Check back for our developing list of restaurants open in your area and let us know if you see any missing businesses.

We'll get through this together, y'all:

Whole Foods

Organic food in any weather! Well, almost. They are closing early - around 3 or 4 p.m. Stock up on what you'll need for tomorrow.

Aretha Frankenstein's

Feast on pancakes as thick as the snow on your car or the underrated breakfast burrito until midnight tonight. And yes Virginia, they do serve beer.

Farmer's Daughter

Farm-to-table Southern food til 2 p.m. Order a ham biscuit (off-menu, you'll look really cool) and a side of soup to warm your bones.

Tremont Tavern

"Tremont's always open," many a Northshore neighbor has been known to say. They're not wrong. Stop in during normal business hours for a wide selection of burgers and brews. We always trust the daily special.

Cashew

For the vegans in your life or the plant-based dieter in you, open today 11-2. The loaded potatoes are a filling meal even carnivores can get behind.

Good Dog

Normal hours, well above average hot dogs. Fun for all ages, but may be an especially nice treat for any kids getting a little stir crazy.

Taco Mamacita

Open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (unless their Facebook gets another update) for all your taco and margarita needs.

The Yellow Deli

The Yellow Deli really means it when they say they're open 24/5 - plus, the house their waitstaff lives in is just down the street, said a server. The yerba mate latte and a bowl of Jacob's Stew are waiting for you all day and night, snow or shine.

Pasha Coffee House

St. Elmo residents can trudge down St. Elmo Avenue to their neighborhood cafe, which opened at 8 this morning, for fresh baked muffins and hot chocolate.

Urban Stack

Urban Stack is closed for lunch but will open at 3, offering burgers and whiskey to warm you up.

Terminal Brewhouse

Opening at noon today. Watch the snow melt from the rim of your frosty mug.

Public House

After taking a snow day yesterday, Public House is open again Thursday.

212 Market Street

212 Market is open for regular lunch and dinner hours, from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. And while they're celebrating their 22nd birthday, all 22-year-olds who show their ID's will get 15% off their meal until February 16. I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22...

Champy's Famous Fried Chicken

Forties and fowl sounds good for an impromptu day off - especially convenient for UTC students.

Lupi's Pizza

Carbs and beer are a great followup to a walk in the snow. Lupi's downtown will be open at 1:30 p.m., keeping closing time flexible based on the weather.
