'ABCs of Death' an alphabetical arsenal of destruction

Twenty-six ways to die.

That's the premise of "The ABCs of Death," the next movie screening presented by local film club Mise En Scenesters at Barking Legs Theater, 1307 Dodds Ave. The movie will be shown at 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 12.

Inspired by children's educational books, the motion picture is composed of 26 individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free reign in choosing a word to create a story involving death.

Considered one of the most ambitious anthology films ever conceived, it has been described as provocative, shocking and funny, offering what producers call "the definitive vision of modern horror diversity" in an alphabetical arsenal of destruction.

Admission is $7 at the door.
