Reel Rocks 7 Film Tour

The Reel Rock 7 film tour will stop Friday, Feb. 15, at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Screenings will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the University Center auditorium.

Reel Rock 7 features four films.

• "Dura, Dura" focuses on the "king" of sport climbing, Chris Sharma, who has created a mecca for hard routes near his home in Catalunya, Spain, and his battle for dominance against a Czech wunderkind, 19-year-old Adam Ondra, who has come to Sharma's home turf to take the torch.

• "Shark's Fin" chronicles legendary alpinist Conrad Anker's 20-year obsession with The Shark's Fin, a spectacular unclimbed granite buttress on the 6,310-meter Mount Meru in Indian.

• "Wide Boys" examines the counter-culture of rough-and-tumble characters of American off-width climbing who aren't afraid to bleed their way up a route.

• "Honnold 3.0" spotlights Alex Honnold, known as the boldest solo climber of his generation. In what may be his biggest adventure yet, he balances ambition with self-preservation as he climbs Mount Watkins, El Capitan and Half Dome in under 19 hours.

Tickets are $15 at the door, $12 in advance online at www.imathlete.com/events/reelrock7.

Proceeds benefit the Southeastern Climbers Coalition, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving climbing access in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Florida and Arkansas. For information, go to www.seclimbers.org.
