Local Hero Project returns to Lookout Wild Film Festival

The Local Hero Project, "a mini-mini film festival" that is part of the Lookout Wild Film Festival, is again looking for local participants.

Started last year, the project lets you get behind the camera and the editing bay to create your own short film. The free viewing party/festival will be held March 20 at Mellow Mushroom downtown.

The deadline for entry is March 13. The rules to enter are simple: The video must be a high-definition film of an outdoor activity running three minutes or under. You may use any type of high-definition camera, including your cellphone, though it is requested that you shoot horizontal if you use your cellphone.

All types of video submissions are encouraged, from the serene to the extreme.

The Local Hero Project was created to encourage appreciation and expression of film and the outdoors in Chattanooga.
