Massenet's 'Werther' next in Met at the movies series - March 15, 19

The Met: Live in HD series continues on the big screen with The Metropolitan Opera's acclaimed new production of Massenet's "Werther." It stars tenor Jonas Kaufmann, left, in the title role of the tortured poet and French mezzo-soprano Sophie Koch as Charlotte, the object of Werther's unrequited love. Both are making their Met debuts. The live transmission begins at 12:55 p.m. Saturday, March 15, with an encore at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at East Ridge 18, 5080 South Terrace, and Hamilton Place 8 (formerly 10-17), 2000 Hamilton Place Blvd. Running time is 3 hours, 15 minutes. Tickets are $24 for adults (discounts for seniors and children at Hamilton Place).
