'Music of the Nations' at Bryan College

December 9th, 2011 by Staff Report in Chattnow Music

Bryan College will offer its annual Christmas concert, "Music of the Nations," in two performances this weekend. A program of Lessons and Carols is new to the series this year.

Under the college's Christmas theme of "King for the Nations," the concert will explore musical themes that present Christ as the long-anticipated king. Performing will be Bryan vocal and instrumental ensembles, the Bryan Community Youth Choir, Bryan Community Children's Choir and guest artists the Metropolitan Bells.

The second half of the concert will feature lessons and carols, with Scripture reading by students and faculty members, and Christmas carols sung by the audience or one of the program's choral ensembles. Included in the readings will be prophesies of Christ's birth and the Christmas story from the Gospels.

The free concerts will be presented at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday in Rudd Auditorium on the Dayton, Tenn., campus. For more information, call 423-775-2041.
