The Beachley & Scott Band at Mike's Music

Two of the most recognizable voices in bluegrass, Darren Beachley and Barry Scott, will bring their new ensemble, The Beachley & Scott Band, to Mike's Music, 1546 Burnt Mill Road in Flintstone, Ga., for a show at 7:30 tonight.

Beachley and Scott were part of supergroup Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver from 1996 to 2009 collectively, their tenure coinciding with the band's record-setting run of seven consecutive Vocal Group of the Year awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association.

Before their mega merger in November 2010, both pursued solo projects, according to the band's website. After leaving Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Scott fronted the band Second Wind, which was nominated for a Grammy in 2009 for the gospel release "In God's Time." Beachley fronted the band Legends of the Potomac, whose "Takeoff" was one of the top bluegrass CDs of 2010.

In the new ensemble, they are backed by Jason Leek (chop guitar, bass, vocals), Shane Bartley (banjo, mandolin and bass vocals) and Tim Laughlin (mandolin, fiddle, vocals).

Tickets to tonight's show are $20.
