The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera will take a road trip to Cleveland, Tenn., on Monday to perform in Lee University's Presidential Concert Series.
Back by popular demand, the orchestra will perform in the Conn Center under the baton of new maestra Kayoko Dan and featuring solo pianist Ning An.
The program will be identical to tonight's performance at the Tivoli Theatre in Chattanooga. The ensemble will present Overture to Fidelio by Beethoven, Concerto in A Minor by Grieg and Brahms' Symphony No. 1.
An, accomplished pianist and music professor at Lee, has appeared with the London Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic and the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra, among others, and has won top prizes worldwide.
Dan, a native of Japan, pursued her music education at the University of Texas and Arizona State University. Previously, she served as assistant conductor of the Phoenix Symphony and music director of Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras.
