American rock heavyweights 3 Doors Down will kick off its 29-date "Time of My Life" North American tour Thursday at Memorial Auditorium.

The band is touring in support of its newest CD, "Time of My Life," which came out July 19.

Rock bands Theory of a Deadman and Pop Evil will open the show.

"We're psyched for the tour with Theory of a Deadman and Pop Evil," said 3DD lead singer Brad Arnold in a news release. "There are going to be some awesome venues full of some awesome fans. We can't wait to rock it out."

"Time of My Life" debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Chart and No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart. It features the single "Every Time You Go," which debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Rock Singles Chart.

"We're a solid, no-frills rock band with deep friendships and a good understanding of what it takes to keep the fire going," said bassist Todd Harrell.

Arnold said that at its core, the band is simply about giving fans what they want.

"Friends, road warriors, band of brothers, call us whatever you want," he said.

"What makes me so proud of this album is how it seems to put a stamp on all the years, all the ups and downs we've been through, and cuts some new ground for us.

"No matter where we're at or how we come at you, at our core is still the burning desire to give our fans the best we can give."

Formed in Escatawpa, Miss., the band also includes Matt Roberts, Chris Henderson and Greg Upchurch. They are perhaps best known for their mega-hit "Kryptonite."
