Counterpoint Concert at St. Peter's

The year's first Counterpoint concert, featuring music followed by a question-and-answer session, will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 848 Ashland Terrace.

Performing will be Aaron Roche, a Brooklyn-based indie-electronic-folk musician, and Tim Hinck, the organist and choirmaster at St. Peter's.

For more than two years, Roche and Hinck have been collaborating on recordings and compositions that range from the influence of classical electro acoustic minimalist Steve Reich to lo-fi, indie folk fuzz to the rhymic complexity of Bartok's chamber music.

The duo uses multimedia projections, electric guitars and piano to envelop an audience in a delicate sound world.

There is no admission charge for the concert but donations will be accepted.
