Fundraisers helping cancer patients

Separate events this weekend will raise funds for two people battling illnesses.

The evening will feature the Jeff Hullender Family, Terry Moore, Gene Lowery & Pipeline and Junior and Thelma Hullender. The concert starts at 6 p.m. at the school, 134 Rhea McClanahan Drive. Admission is free, with love offerings accepted at the door. Sale Creek: An auction that includes two horses, a player piano and a Wii gaming system is scheduled 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Sale Creek Lions Club, 15222 Coppinger Road. Funds will go toward the medical bills of Rachel Price, a Sale Creek High School junior who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in January. The auction is sponsored by the Sale Creek High School JROTC as a Battalion Service Learning project. The battalion has sponsored several fundraisers on Rachel's behalf. Funds are given to Rachel's family to help pay for the out-of-pocket expenses related to her treatment. Donations may be made payable to the Rachel Price Donation Account at any Dupont Community Credit Union location or mailed to the main office at P.O. Box 1058, Hixson, TN 37343.
