Jericho Brass ready with 15th season fanfare

Jericho Brass will open its 15th season with a free concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Signal Mountain Baptist Church, 939 Ridgeway Ave.

Candice Kortyka will be featured in the program, performing "'Tis the Last Rose of Summer" on solo cornet. Other selections will include "Radetzky March," "Army of the Nile March" and "Hope Variations."

The Jericho Brass has been performing in the Chattanooga area since 1998. In 2010, the ensemble won the George Washington Honor Medal from the Freedoms Foundation of Valley Forge for the original composition "Defenders of Liberty" by Dan Hanson, with narration by Skip Houck.

Jericho Brass is under the direction of Frank Hale and associate director Dan Bowles, with support by the Salvation Army Citadel Corps on North Moore Road. For more information, visit www.jerichobrassband.org.
