The Choo Choo Chorus.Barbershop quartets with Chattanooga's Choo Choo Chorus are taking orders for Singing Valentines.
Valentine's Day is next Thursday, Feb. 14.
"We typically perform all Valentines on Valentine's Day," says spokesman Marcellus Scott. "However, if someone wants one done on another day, we will schedule as quartets are available."
Cost is $50 for the live performance of a love song, along with a card, candy and rose. The singers like to have a two-hour window for dropping in to deliver their surprise serenades.
"For delivery at a certain time or within less than a two-hour window, the price is $75," Scott says.
Several quartets will offer their services that day. Each comes prepared to sing either of two popular love songs: "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" or "Heart of My Heart," otherwise known as "The Story of the Rose." Both are standards in the barbershop-quartet repertoire.
"Our quartets are also happy to perform a group Valentine, such as for small work staffs or other special gatherings," says Scott.
