'An Evening With Debussy' at UTC

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the French composer's birth, pianist Dr. Joe Chapman will present "An Evening With Debussy" in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2, in the UTC Fine Arts Center, 752 Vine St.

The works include "Clair de Lune (Moonlight)," "Feux d'Artifice (Fireworks)" and the finale "L'Isle Joyeuse (The Joyful Island)," the mood ranging from haunting to soaring to humorous.

Chapman is the director of keyboard studies and conductor of the University Orchestra at the University of North Georgia. He holds degrees in piano performance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and the University of South Carolina.
